Review of Star Trek III: The Search for Spock (1984) by Vincent H — 29 May 2013
After already seen "Wrath of Khan" twice now, I was pretty excited to see where the story led with "Search for Spock." Should I have expected more? In hindsight I should have known what to expect from the title. The film is indeed, a search, and offers very little action. Yes, there is a whole subplot involving a crew of Klingons (headed by the wily Christopher Lloyd) but this just seemed like a second-thought and ultimately provided little satisfaction.
With all that said, it's not a bad movie, and I would still recommend the film, but boy do I want to get back to Earth and see what the hype is over those humpback whales in the story's conclusion, "The Voyage Home.".
