Review of Star Trek: First Contact (1996) by Steve W — 14 Apr 2009
Star Trek goes Terminator. When the Enterprise defeats a Borg ship in their present time, a probe is sent back in time to ruin the timeline and attack Earth when they are defenseless. The Enterprise goes back to stop them.
This is considered the best of TNG Star Trek movies. I haven't seen Insurrection or Nemesis, but this was fantastic. It had good action, acting, and a great story wrapped up with some pretty decent visual effects for 1996.
The Borg get onto the Enterprise and attempt to assimilate it, while the other half of the crew has to fix the timeline. There is lots of good conflict and action scenes, even for someone who is not a fan of Star Trek.
With good special effects and a great story, Star Trek: First Contact is an excellent science fiction movie with all the right aspects.
