I was not interested in this movie at all until I married a Trekkie and was subjected to an indoctrination course in The Next Generation. Only at that point should someone see First Contact, which is, in the wife's words, "The Alpha and the Omega.
" And she wasn't joking. At. All. Lots of fun and more accessible than the episodic show, but too much assumed information for anyone but a dedicated insider to really enjoy.
