Review of Star Trek Beyond (2016) by Mike S — 08 Jan 2017

I enjoyed this third outing of the new Star Trek crew. The basic story is straightforward: Kirk and crew are stranded on a remote planet with an army of unknown aliens that want to attack the Federation.

There are underlying themes of self-sacrifice and doing the right thing, but it's mostly a straight-up action picture. This is a good cast and it's a pleasure to watch them interact with each other.
