Star Trek Beyond is the third installment in the Star Trek "reboot" movies. The first two directed JJ Abrams and I absolutely loved them. Now when I heard that Justin Lin would be taking over the project over JJ I was skeptical. Those worries are put to rest because Justin has directed an awesome film. The action he brings over from Fast and Furious translates very well into Star Trek. The costume, makeup and CGI is once again flawless. The writing by Simon Pegg was smart, interesting, and funny. The cast once again does a tremendous job on being these characters especially Chris Pine and Zachary Quinto. Idris Elba's character "Krall" is very interesting. He brings his very good acting and toughness to the character to bring him to life. Even though the characters motivations are unclear until the end.
