What a charmless, dreadful movie. After the fantastic first two films in the new series, Star Trek Beyond is a huge disappointment. At times it is like watching a video game - and that goes for the spectacularly unoriginal aliens, through to the endless, tiresome action sequences.
Even our beloved characters are wasted in this movie, appearing as little more than thinly sketched versions of themselves. If this is to be the last of this series with these actors, then it is a terrible waste.
