Is it as good as the first in this new series? No. However, it is better than "Into Darkness". Zachary Quinto, Chris Pine, Karl Urban and new additions of Sofia Boutella and Idris Elba are fantastic.
The story, written by Simon Pegg, is captivating and had me hooked in from the first scene until the last. Great film that has fun movie written all over it. If you are a fan of this new version of Star Trek then give this film a try.
