Review of Star Trek Beyond (2016) by Tim G — 01 Dec 2016
Three years into a five year mission, what has proven to be the most exciting Star Trek movie yet, the film takes off on a dramatic and exciting adventure. Although some of the other attempted prequels to the Star Trek series were not believable, this was not the case as Chris Pine, as Captain James T.
Kirk, Zachary Quinto, as a young Commander Spock and Karl Urban, as the perfect Dr. McCoy, attempt to find meaning in their missions as they set out "where no man has gone before." Star Trek lovers are sure to find this cast and plot perfectly suited for the 50 year anniversary of the action in the Star Trek series and obviously new dynamic special effects which draw them to this science fiction show.
As the scenes roll from one special effect to another, the crew battles a new enemy that threatens their mere existence and who also forces Kirk and Spock to take a second look at life, their mere existence and of course, the mission of the crew of the Enterprise.
As this film plays out, die hard Trekies will recognize all of the old personalities of their favorite characters in these young characters which helps make this a generally fun movie to watch.
