Review of Stanley Kubrick: A Life in Pictures (2001) by Alex S — 21 Nov 2008
I found this a fascinating insight into one of cinemas true geniuses. If your not a fan of the mans work, then you wont probably get much out of this, but if you love Kubrick's films, and not everybody does, then you will find this thoroughly involving.
From his humble beginnings as an outstanding photographer on the streets of New York.Through to his Hollywood breakthrough with Spartacus. His move to England where he spent the rest of his life with is wonderful family.
You get loads of home movie footage, thats gives you a gimps of a very private and shy man. The interviews with the actors and collaborators are interesting and insightful and honest.Overall, this is the definitive documentary on a true master.
