Review of Standing in the Shadows of Motown (2002) by Pam P — 21 Feb 2009
Fanatastic Documentary which finally gives full due to the forgotten men who made the Motown sound what it was The Funk Brothers .
Includes some trade Motown secrets and Performances from Chaka Khan and Ben Haper.
The most amazing parts of the film is that it never patronises these great guys and they give an Honest Account of how Motown worked Up until the company moved in 1971.
Whats also amazing is that some 40 years down the line they still know how to cut it .
If you dont like Motown then there must be a huge chasm in your life and this film more than fills that chasm ,great stuff.
