Review of Standard Operating Procedure (2008) by Ben O — 27 Jun 2008
So close to being perfect: slick production value, suitably philosophical, doggedly anti-partisan, and raises far more questions than it could ever hope to answer. (Then there's the Interrotron cam! WTF, too cool!) Trouble is, Morris at times overestimates his audience's Abu Ghraib expertise, so the larger socio-historical significance of the incident never truly comes together.
Still, a killer doc. Essential viewing for cinephiles.
