Review of Stand by Me (1986) by Luisa L — 05 Jun 2013
Best film of 1986. This coming of age movie is the best, the funniest, and most dramatic I've ever seen. A story of four friends on a journey to find a body, and do a lot more than that. They learn how to bond and stay together, and not take things for granted or for their own credit, and realize they do want they want to do with their lives.
A well written story of comedy, drama, tragedy, heart, humor, and importance of friends, family, and self. Best character development and bond I've ever seen, very funny and dramatic, along with good acting from all the cast members, cool and realistic settings, and tragic memories of Gordon's life as a kid and adult make this a timeless classic.
The guys change from jerks to nice guys, and do make an adventure like that fun, life changing, and dangerous. A movie worth seeing for all audiences.
