Review of Stand by Me (1986) by Abdullah Y — 19 Nov 2011
This is the perfect 80's nostalgia film (set in the 50's but reeks of 80's sentimentality). Friendship films always gets me, and this one is a very good one when it comes to that. The kids are great, the outdoor scenaries are amazing, the music is just perfect, but above all it is a great little story.
Now I know why after 25 years this film still holds up, because a film set in the 50's and made in the 80's can still be for ages when it is made this well.
