Review of Stand by Me (1986) by Sam N — 03 Feb 2013
One of my favourite films. Sunshine, scenery, and four boys just turned teenage going to find a dead body. It's as if the film is blissfully unaware of its beauty; it isn't deliberately and heavily nostalgic, or meaningful, or deep, but it's all there.
It makes you wish you had nothing more important to do than sling a rucksack on your back, get your friends together, and wander off along the railroad.
