I have had Stand By Me in my movie collection since 1989. It is probably the finest example of just how well Steven King can translate onto the main screen. River Phoenixe's perforfance as Chris Chambers is powerful and honest when bringing a troubled youth who struggles with turning his life around.
The performance of Kiefer Southerland as Ace leaves an audience feeling a dead silence of honest cold terror in each moment he is on screen. I recommend to anyone who wants to explore adventure and what it is to have a dream that is completely separate from what the world tells us to dream about.
