Based on a true storyâ?¦or so Iâ??ve heard. Itâ??s basically Dangerous Minds on a low budget. My main complaint is the story seemed very rushed. One minute the students are defiant, the very next theyâ??re all agreeing to come in early, leave late, and work Saturdays. My second complaint is minor, but Edward James Olmosâ?? comb over was very distracting early onâ?¦very. I got over it and in the end enjoyed the experience. Itâ??s amazing how many of them passed the Advanced Placement Calculus Exam. Great story of overcoming a system thatâ??s against you.

I looked up the teacher(Jaime Escalante) the story is based upon on wiki and it had a great quote. â??Determination + Discipline + Hard Work = Way to Successâ??. Simple but true.
