Review of Stalag 17 (1953) by Jamie C — 26 Jan 2008
Perhaps not as wildly surreal or comedic in the tradition of Joseph Heller, this movie forges its own path. Wilder paints a subtle portrait of POW life. Outwardly zany and funny, its undertones are cynic and dark.
If you can get past the bumbling stereotypical German camp guards this one is a treat. Enjoy!
