Review of Stake Land (2010) by Joshua H — 26 Jun 2011
If Zombieland made sweet love to Cormac McCarthy's The Road their love child would be Stake Land, a post-apocalyptic vampire horror-drama, that lacks in originality, but makes up for it in realistic action, fresh ideas and interesting characters.
Like Zombieland, the movie lead's protagonist is a badass slayer who forms an alliance with a pussy kid and go on a cross-country adventure to find 'New Eden." The story is nothing new under the sun, but it's still a SOLID movie despite its dated premise.
VERDICT: Pretty Good!
