Review of Stake Land (2010) by Amy H — 22 Apr 2013
An intriguing entry into the vampire genre as it has more of a feel of a zombie movie. The vampires look & behave more like a zombie except they're not slow & cumbersome but with all the traits of a vampire.
The film is a tad on the slow side which is possibly its down fall. The film focuses on a young lad named Martin, whose family is killed by a vampire. His life is saved by a lone vampire hunter only known as Mister.
They embark on a journey north to the save haven of New Eden, possibly the only place on Earth safe from the plague which has ravished the planet. On the way not only have they to watch out for vampires but a group of religious zealots called The Brotherhood who believe the vampires are God's salvation.
