Review of Stagecoach (1939) by Bryan T — 16 Aug 2008
Phenomenal early Wayne/Ford collaboration, with gorgeous cinematography and wonderful characters. Tonally, this takes on a complete unique atmosphere; large sections of it have no music at all and its performances are all extremely realistic for the period.
This is one of John Wayne's two best performances and probably one of the best movies John Ford ever made.
