Review of Stagecoach (1939) by Paul V — 18 Feb 2009
I'm just really starting to watch any kind of classic films, and I was never really one for westerns, but I really enjoyed this movie. The action sequences were surprisingly well done for the time, as was a lot of the camerawork (particularly Wayne's big entrance) and the lighting.
Also, the pacing was great; never a dull moment. What I enjoyed most though was the character of the Doc, played by Thomas Mitchell, and his interactions with and reactions to various characters and situations throughout the movie.
Overall, an excellent film that (again) I feel I should have seen a long time ago.
