Review of Stagecoach (1939) by Daniel S — 01 Jul 2010
Given John Ford's reputation as the great director of American Westerns, I expected more. But what I found was stiff dialogue and some poor story progression.
Visually breathtaking, and at times very exciting, the movie was at least entertaining, hence, worth watching. But I doubt that I'll be viewing it again any time soon.
The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance, while less visual, was a much better movie.
