Review of Stagecoach (1939) by Jacob G — 02 Aug 2010
Stagecoach is the film that kick-started the western genre, with its glorious photography, amazing action scenes, and breakneck pace. It's one of the great hang-out movies; the fun characters feel like your friends, and revisiting the film is just hanging out with them once again.
The movie contains terrific performances from some of the best character actors of the era, and John Ford's signature direction is most definitely put on display. A true American classic, and one of my new favorite westerns of all time.
