Review of Stagecoach (1939) by Charles W — 04 Feb 2012
A really good western that really started em all. The movie is shot very nicely and has that John Ford touch....long shots of huge sweeping valleys, huge canyons, cowboys, Indians and of course the Duke.
The movie introduced a lot of people to the bad ass known as John Wayne aka the Ringo Kid. The movie moves at a pretty fast pace, but it is quite a good movie. There were only one or two parts that were slow, but the movies theme of outsiders bonding together to get through a life or death situation has a nice homey feel to it.
Overall, the movie is a work of art that started the genres of the western in the sound era...any film buff definitely has to see this movie!
