Review of Stagecoach (1939) by Xgary X — 19 Oct 2013
The plot is very contrived. Some of the characters are shallow caricatures. And most egregious of all, the Native Americans are depicted as violent , ruthless savages attacking for no reason, the noble and adventurous white people, when 90 % of the time, the opposite was true.
So WHY am I giving it 5 stars? Four words: John Ford/John Wayne. The manner Wayne is introduced is legendary, and the climactic attack scene is impeccable, perfectly done.
