Review of Stagecoach (1939) by Chris C — 19 May 2012
What makes this movie interesting is the whole difference in social class amongst the people traveling in the Stagecoach.
Once you understand that idea, that poor, lower class people can have the same integrity as upper class, aristocrats, then you can finally understand this movie.
I loved it, and John Wayne was absolutely stellar in this movie. John Ford made a classic, and shot an incredible chase scene with the Indians and the Stagecoach, and even incorporated a little bit of D.W. Griffith with the "last minute rescue" at the end.
A great representation of a Classical Hollywood film.
