Review of Stage Fright (1950) by Greg D — 12 Apr 2008
Oh, so delightful! Jane Wyman is affable and funny (the scene in which she attempts to change herself into a dowdy maid is so funny) and Marlene Dietrich is delicious as the bitchy prima donna. The "false flashback" is years ahead of it's time, and there are brilliant Hitchcock tinges of comedy.
A very underrated Hitchcock film - it may not be the most suspenseful, but it never overstays it's welcome, and the ensemble cast is extremely likeable. One of my fave Hitchcocks.
