Review of Stage Door (1937) by Braden A — 03 Sep 2006
I can't believe how pleasantly surprised I was with this film. It has an incredible cast, with Katharine Hepburn, Ginger Rogers, Lucille Ball and Ann Miller.
It has some fantastic comedy done with cutting dialogue and the performances are all wonderful. And it has a surprisingly tragic end without becoming too sentimental.
I was also very surprised that it never entered into love-story territory.
Anyways, it was a fantastic movie and without a doubt one I will be viewing again.
