Review of St. Elmo's Fire (1985) by Sean W — 22 Jan 2009
This makes the 80s look so very 80s. Hair, clothes, David Foster all over the soundtrack (and a heavy reliance on saxophone). Still love that title tune...but the movie itself takes itself a little too seriously although the cast does a fine job (Demi Moore especially).
How many characters try to commit suicide by locking their door and opening all the windows?? Then the gasp of surprise when it's revealed Rob Lowe's character works at a gas station...this after he's quit or been fired (for good reason) from every other job he gets in the movie.
