Review of Squirm (1976) by Anna N — 29 Oct 2007
Part of the nature strikes back trend of the late seventies, started by JAWS. Lieberman only made a handful of movies in his career (so far - I hope)but they were all constructed with extra creativity and intelligence.
Sure he's making an "Elecrocuted worms strike back" movie. But you can tell he's trying to make the best one possible. As with all of his films, the score is as brilliant as it is super creepy.
He casts an unlikely hero and throws in a few surprises to keep things interesting. If you see one killer worm movie this year...actually is there any other?
