Review of Spy Kids 3-D: Game Over (2003) by Guido S — 06 Dec 2013
I feel the Spy Kids films to this point were the case of diminishing returns. The first was the best, and they just got worse and worse. Juni is working as a PI after the last film and is about to buy the latest game Game Over by the Toymaker played by Stallone.
He later finds his sister is stuck in the game and he needs to go there to save her. He's in the majority of the film, he's not bad, but the magic of the family of spies from Banderas to the kids to Trejo and Marin is what made the first special.
Anyways, it plays out like a series of Tron events without the neon glow, but tons of bad CGI. The whole film is basically CGI and the effects aren't very good either. He does eventually team up with his sister and the rest of the family, but by then, the film is nearly over and it can't save the film.
