Review of Spy (2015) by Stuart M — 25 Sep 2015
A decent film, but I'm not a fan of the constantly pausing improvised dialogue that Feig likes to use. I find it ruins the pacing and momentum of scenes in attempting to keep it spontaneous. The acting is great, with real standouts being Jason Stratham(!) as an agent who thinks he's in Crank, and Rose Byre as an impossibly spoiled and useless villain.
And McCarthy's great in the lead, proving yet again that she can carry a film on her own.
