Review of Spy (2015) by Thegodfatherson — 05 Jun 2015
Melissa McCarthy never gets old, and Spy makes sure of that. There is slapstick comedy, sex jokes, gratuitous violence and non stop swearing town into the mix, to make for a more enjoyable movie. Wit the shortage of GOOD Cop/Spy comedies nowdays, Paul Feig and his cast set out to make a movie that people could laugh at, not with it.
Examples: Paul Blart Mall Cop 2, which was a turd for both Kevin James and the predecessor it relies on. Spy is fun, every moment was comic and delightful. McCarthy steals the show, and Jude Law was descent as well.
There is also Transporter Statham thrown in, he seemed awkwardly disturbed in a movie about dick jokes and nudity, but he seemed the fit. Feig handles the film well. It was funny. For the average person, Spy will not be enjoyable.
But for me, who came of the Naked Gun movies, I relate to Susan Cooper and her job. America, F*ck Yeah.
