Review of Spring Breakers (2013) by Tim M — 11 May 2014
The absurdity of Spring Break, Dangeruss, and Gucci Mane coalesce into a miasma of hedonism in Florida. There's a surprising amount of recycled footage for a 90 minute film. The direction is somewhere between Malick and Refn, a bit too much handheld at times.
It looks great other than that, good use of blacklights and slow-mo in particular. Britney Spears for the touching montage? It works.
