This was one of the strangest films of 2013. It somehow manages to be simultaneously brilliant and low-brow, making you wonder is this exploitation or satire, and if you loved it or hated it. As you watch James Franco play the gold-toothed drug-dealing degenerate, bear in mind that this actor is getting his PhD from Yale -- just one clue that this film is a lot more than it appears to be.
