Review of Spotlight (2015) by Bobby T — 05 Mar 2016

I went in to spotlight waiting for it to be like 12 years a slave, complete with the harsh depictions of the brutal topic it covers. Luckily it's not that kind of movie. It covers the topic of child abuse without the movie itself (and the hardships of it's topic) becoming the focus.

Its goal is to inform, not shock. And it does a fantastic job of that while still criticizing the individuals and institution responsible for the atrocities that were committed.
