Review of Spotlight (2015) by The D — 11 Mar 2016
Disturbing but unfortunately all too common true story about the tragedy of the Catholic church's coverup and reshuffling of molesting priests that continue their destruction elsewhere that goes all the way to the Vatican.
This should be shocking but sadly we're all too used to it by now. Promise people they'll live forever and they will excuse anything. It drives home the adage: Good people do good, bad people do bad, but for a good person to do bad it takes religion.
Although it is a wonderful film, it did not deserve Best Picture (there were several better IMO).
