Review of Split (2017) by Kevin S — 20 Jun 2018
James McAvoy steals the show in one of the top horror movies of 2017. I only wish they would have had more flashbacks for Kevin Wendell Crumb which would have complimented flashbacks for Casey. My second viewing of this film was more enjoyable than the first, and I was much more pleased with the second viewing.
I think it is important to note, and should have been noted in the film that many people with Dissociative Identity Disorder are non-violent. I was glad that they added that those who develop multiple identities do so due to trauma and those identities act as a defense mechanism.
24 personalities is also a reach, but it's a movie so I get it. It's good to see M. Night Shyamalan making good movies again, both "The Visit" and "Split" are great additions after such a long slump.
