Review of Split (2017) by Anthony K — 26 Mar 2017

I think this film has been vastly overpraised. There are a lot of good things about Split, a lot of great moments, and some excellent performances...but it's simply overstuffed. Had they cut out some more of M Night's pointless, rambling exposition scenes and left more to the audience's imagination, I think Split would have the potential to be a 4 or even 5 star movie for me.

But there's too much here that's simply boring, inaccurate (the way the movie conceives of DID is all wrong), or offensive (the uncle sub plot? wtf!).
