Review of Split (2017) by Raporgi — 30 Jan 2017
Stupid and turgid. doesnt have the slow build up of mystery that was the hallmark of Shyamalan's past work. Its just crap piled on top of crap. It doesnt even fall into the so bad its good or amusing category.
Its seems like there's a large segment of viewers who desperately want this to be Shyamalan's comeback movie but honestly it's not. Not morbidly funny or schlocky so there are no laughs on offer except for maybe Mcavoy's OTT acting.
The "twist" at the end is not a twist but more of an easter egg. The idiots chirping that it was intentional are delusional. A movie should be judged on its own merits and not by any tangential references to any prequels/sequels.
Just rent it if you must watch it.
