A very silly film by M.N.S, a director who has had huge quality issues over the years. I believe this one doesn't help his tarnished credentials one iota, unfortunately. I was going into it hoping for some interesting drama but there were no surprises except the mandatory one at the end, which doesn't contribute anything but promises a sequel that will (hopefully) end the trilogy.

There is also some pretty awful acting by James McAvoy, possibly the worst of his career, as he fails miserably to 'be' different characters inhabiting the same body, in a hideously un-PC take on mental illness. Far better are the psychiatrist (whose empathy and kindness is well communicated) and the lead girl (whose deep internal sadness is contrasted with a quick mind).

Overall, the direction is flat and lifeless and the cinematography lacked any zip (being set mostly inside a grey/brown and claustrophobic factory doesn't help of course).

Given M.N.S's record so far (apart from 6th Sense), I am not optimistic about 'Glass'.
