Review of Splash (1984) by Jason O — 07 Sep 2009
This is probably one of the most typical 80's movies there are. "It's a romantic comedy with a twist!" Now if someone pitched me this idea but the 80's made Howard the Duck so you can't get much lower then that.
Everything looks like Citizen Kane to that. Now I'm not saying SPlash is god awful, it has it's cute moments but the story and the characters are so two dimentional, you don't really care what happens to them.
It doesn't help that I'm not a fan of anyone in the cast (yes, I'm not a Tom Hanks fan, you can hunt me down later and kill me). There are a lot better 80's movies to watch so switch for a different one when you're on a nostalgic movie binge.
