Review of Spirits of the Dead (1968) by Samantha S — 13 Feb 2011
Curious arthouse schlock,Poe sources notwithstanding, notable mostly for the amount of A list talent (on both sides of the camera) slumming around in all the softcore sadism. Felliniâ(TM)s is the most visually interesting, Malleâ(TM)s the closest to an actual story that works, while Vadimâ(TM)s gives you the opportunity to gaze at Jane Fonda in some skimpy costumes without actually having to sit through Barbarella.
Not great, but horror hipsters will certainly find it worth a go.
