At times not as good as it could have been, but at others times, top notch. Not everything is perfect, but not everything should be. Some elements don't work, but so what? The film does work, and its a great film for its time, but not quite for all time.
Not quite as dazzeling as Bambi or Snow White, or even Shrek, but it does do a good job of being a horse movie.
