Review of Spin Me Round (2022) by Tvjerry — 23 Aug 2022
Alison Brie stars as a manager in a chain of Italian restaurants, who is rewarded a free trip to Italy. Turns out the chain's owner (Alessandro Nivola) may fulfill her fantasy to fall in love. However, a squirrely assistant (Aubrey Plaza) and some other incidents create paranoia and a potentially criminal plot.
The pacing moves and there are lots of energetic performances (Molly Shannon & Zack Woods are standouts). However, the frustratingly ambiguous plot and the director's efforts at tension result in a somewhat confusing and rather bland European adventure.
