Review of Spies Like Us (1985) by Wesley M — 06 May 2008
Not a whole lot to complain about, its just not a GREAT movie. Its more so a series or related vignettes that just happen to fit together well. Akroyd and Chase make an incredible team, and after a bit of a jumpy start, it settles into a nice pace of one liners, physical humor, and general laughter situations. Unlike many movies, it doesn't have ubearable stretches of laughless boredom.
While it doesn't achieve the gut-busting hilarity of Airplane!, it is certainly a comedy classic that deserves a look, especially for fans of Chase and Akroyd and their brand of humor.
