Review of Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse (2018) by Deven D — 01 Jan 2019
Not just one of the greatest Spider-Man movies, but one of the greatest superhero films in general, if not THE greatest. Nevermind 'eye candy', the art style and animation of this beauty of a flick is 'eye COOKIE DOUGH'.
The humor is funnier and more clever than anything I've seen in a Spider-Man film. The plot gives us what we want while throwing curveballs we never see coming, from the smallest joke, to the gloomiest plot twist.
Basically, a web of love letters for everything Spidey and beyond. A huge breath of fresh air for both the animation industry and for the superhero genre as a whole. One of the last films of 2018, this one gets my pick for movie of the year.
Heroes always arrive late.
