Review of Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse (2018) by Christian B — 17 Dec 2018
Everybody had their doubts going into this film. Miles Morales was a generally unknown character, and the animation style was something that most were not accustomed to, and not to mention Sony's terrible attempts at animation the past couple of years (Emoji Movie.
..Duh). In a year with Infinity War and Black Panther, this film looked like a silly kids movie. Without a doubt, this is one of the best films of the entire year. It has heart, character, action, suspense, drama, and a genuine sense of wonder and awe.
Scenes in this film, especially the "leap of faith" will be considered iconic 20 years from now. The animation style is breathtaking and jumps out at the viewer. This is the best animated film of the year, the best superhero film of the year, and possibly one of the greatest superhero films of all time.
Homecoming looks like a joke now, just saying (Fight Me) :).
