Review of Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse (2018) by Jeanette N — 18 Dec 2018
The movie's animation was exceptional, and probably the best part - the mix of two dimensional and three dimensional animation that is used to create this graphic-novel effect... it's astounding. It makes the movie feel as though it is a comic book come to life.
Some of the story points are mediocre, but there's magic to be had in the points that you didn't expect. The twists and turns in Miles' relationships, the humour he brings to the movie through his personality, and the way he learns to slowly accept and becomes the new superhero... it's inredibly engaging, and it's very enjoyable.
I've never read a Spiderverse comic book, but you can bet that's where I'll be for the next few days. I need more of these characters, and I need more of their designs.
