Review of Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse (2018) by Patrick B — 14 Dec 2018

Ok so heres the deal, I'm a huge spiderman fan but lets be honest, Sony has never made a good spiderman movie, like ever.. even when teamed up with marvel with Homecoming. (I know but think about it, homecoming wasn't a good movie, sure the pacing was ok and the acting is on point but really its less spiderman and more Ironman jr.).

But than.. enter the spiderverse.

I only went to see it because I love Miles just as much as I love Peter and who doesn't love anything tk do with the web warriors and the spiderverse.

But wow Sony, you finnaly did it!

Nailed it 100%, this is the first spiderman movie that I have ever walked out of the cinima thinking "I'm going to go see that again" and I've already brought the google play pre-order.

The pacing was great, the voice acting was on point and really well casts, the spiders quips and humor are on point and unlike in Homecoming spiderman is actually intelligent and can solve problems himself and quickly rather than rely on an AI.

Absolutley loved the animation and fusion of art styles, everything looked amazing!

The emotional impact moments really hit home and there was a point that had my eyes watering abit (something my girlfriend delighted in teasing me about even tho she actually tired up) but yeah, absolutely love this movie, but... the bar is now set Sony, you guys have proved you can make a good spiderman movie, please keep it up.

I'll be looking forward to the next installment and sending everyone I know to see it (one of my friends already said to me "wait.. you liked it? But you hate every spiderman movie because they can't meet your fanboy expectations").

There will be another installment right?

Yeah, you should definitely continue this either into the edge of the spidervers arc with the inheriters or perhaps you want to explore more of the Miles and Gwen stuff?

Either way.. great job and I look forward to more.
